ABOUT THE PROBLEM THAT INSPIRED THE PROJECT:
Almost everyone knows someone who, after a separation or divorce has problems to see her or his children. And in an alarming number of cases, this separation comes often accompanied by false allegations of domestic aggression, sexual abuse, or even the request for a child support amount that is impossible to pay.
During this periods of separation, these parents who have the temporary or final custody of the children, prevent the ex-couple from seen them, and also start a brainwash on the kids, to put them against the absent parent and the other members of their families. All intended to ¨harm¨ the ex-couple, but with the result of children with very hard psychological damages, and disastrous adult lives.
The lack of knowledge of this condition known variably as Parental Alienation or "parent amputation" from the governments, legal authorities and institutions that are supposed to protect the children's rights, is causing hundreds of thousands of children unfairly separated from the half of their families by one of their parents every year. This is happening around the world, and we must stop this new kind of child abuse.

WHY I WANTED TO MAKE THIS PROJECT:
I am a film maker based in Costa Rica, and after suffering from being unfairly separated from my two daughters for one year, I became a member of ANASAP-CR, a non-profit association whose purpose is to help people who have been victims of Parental Alienation, in the legal, psychological and social areas. In other words, I wanted to turn my bad experience into something positive for others. For the last two years I have been involved in projects with the support of various professionals and selfless contributions of people concerned with projects such as the association.

In my position as a communicator, I was inspired to provide all associations from around the world similar to ANASAP-CR with an effective tool to generate awareness and sensitize their populations in the existence of the parental alienation, and the damage it generates in our children and families. This tool is a documentary that shows the life and suffering of those who have gone through the experience of being alienated by another person with whom their children were procreated. This documentary will be called "Kidnapped Lives".

In this audiovisual, we will draw on the stories told by the protagonists themselves, recorded in different countries, reflecting the struggle that each of these parents and children must endure, when courts, state institutions, police, ministries and organizations that support a single genre, discriminate, attack and increase the suffering of those who are living in these harsh realities.

The $43,000 I am raising online makes up 1/2 of the total budget to make the documentary. The majority of the costs of producing this film are the crew, equipment, travel/transportation, & post production.

ACERCA DEL PROBLEMA QUE INSPIRO ESTE PROYECTO:
Casi todo mundo conoce a alguien que, después de una separación o divorcio ha tenido problemas para ver a sus hijos. Y en un alarmante número de casos, esta separación viene a menudo acompañada de falsas denuncias de violencia doméstica, abuso sexual, o la solicitud de un monto de pensión alimentaria imposibles de pagar.

Durante estos períodos de separación, estos padres que poseen la custodia temporal o definitiva de los niños, impiden a la expareja el poder verlos, y también inician un lavado de cerebro en los chicos, para ponerlos en contra de la madre o padre ausente y otros miembros de su familia. Todo con la intención de ¨dañar¨ a la ex-pareja, pero dejando como resultado niños y niñas con fuertes daños psicológicos y vidas adultas desastrosas.
La falta de conocimiento de esta condición, conocida como Alienación Parental, Desparentalización ó Padrectomía por parte de los gobiernos, autoridades legales e instituciones que se suponen protegen los derechos de los infantes, está causando cientos de miles de niños que son injustamente separados de la mitad de sus familias por uno de sus padres cada año. Esto está ocurriendo alrededor del mundo, y nosotros debemos detener este nuevo tipo de abuso infantil.

¿POR QUE QUISE REALIZAR ESTE PROYECTO?
Soy un productor audiovisual radicado en Costa Rica, y después de sufrir en carne propia el haber sido separado injustamente de mis dos hijas durante un año, me convertí en miembro de ANASAP-CR, una organización sin fin de lucro cuyo propósito es ayudar a personas que han sido víctimas de Alienación Parental, en las áreas legal, psicológica y social. En otras palabras, quise convertir mi mala experiencia, en algo positivo para los demás. Durante los últimos dos años he estado colaborando con el apoyo de varios profesionales y contribuciones desinteresadas de gente preocupada por proyectos como la asociación.
En mi posición como comunicador, me sentí inspirado de proveer a todas las asociaciones alrededor del mundo similares a ANASAP-CR de una herramienta para generar consciencia y sensibilizar sus poblaciones acerca de la existencia de la Alienación Parental, y el daño que genera en nuestros infantes y familias. Esta herramienta es un documental que muestra la vida y sufrimiento de aquellos que han pasado por la experiencia de ser alienados por otra persona con quien sus hijos fueron procreados. Este documental se llamará "Vidas Secuestradas".
En este audiovisual, dibujaremos las historias contadas por sus propios protagonistas, grabadas en diferentes países, reflejando la lucha que cada uno de estos progenitores y sus hijos deben afrontar, cuando las cortes, instituciones estatales, policías, ministerios y organizaciones de género, discriminan, atacan y aumentan el sufrimiento de aquellos que están viviendo en estas duras realidades.
